Dear All Saints Family,

Lent is not a common topic of conversation. When the wordLent comes up it often has to do with giving up something. Lent is more than that. Lent is a gift of the church and a gift to us. It is a season during which God prepares us to behold God's own great sacrifice for us, with the hope and prayer that, come Good Friday and Easter, we may be immersed once again into God's mercy and love. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, on February 22 at 7 pm

Mid-Week Lenten Services

This year you will take home a cross, purple cloth, nail, dice, rock and coin at our mid-week Lenten services as we focus on the last 24 hours of Jesus life. Each family will receive a cross on Ash Wednesday, February 22 and each subsequent week you will take home another symbol to be placed at the foot of your cross. Services begin at 7 p.m. with a delicious supper served at 6 p.m. by our youth who will be attending Youth Quake in March.

 

Sunday, Feb. 26: Family Bowling

Bowling is back by popular demand…last year we filed all lanes at Lano Lanes.  All the bowling you can do in 2 hours. Bring your family and friends. There are 48 spots, first come first serve! All lanes at Lano’s reserved for a low price. Only $5 per person to bowl for 2 hours and includes shoe rental. Sign up in the welcome center by Friday, February 24 or call church at 467-3388.

 

It's a fun night of FREE B-I-N-G-O!

Come one, come all to BINGO on Sunday, March 4 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Playing bingo is FREE. There will be concessions available to purchase. The youth attending the Youth Quake/Zone retreat in March will serve the following concessions:  Hot dog $1.75; Chips .75 cents; Lemonade .50 cents; Cookie .75 cents; or a full meal deal for $3.50.  All ages are invited to come play BINGO!!

 

New Members

We will receive new members on Sunday, March 18 at the 10:15 am worship service. We will have a casual orientation for you and your sponsors at the home of Pastor Eric and Judy on Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 pm.  If you are interested in becoming a part of the All Saints family please call the church office at 467-3388.

 

Risers

On Sunday, April 1 the Sunday school children will be doing a “Palm Sunday Program”.  We’d like to expand the size of the current platform in front of the church and add removable risers so we can see them better!  Next December, we’ll be able to see the Children’s and Senior Choir members better during their Advent Choir concert.  We are also looking at having two Sunday school Christmas programs (Preschool-Grade 1 & Grades 2-5) here instead of at the high school  The materials for this project will be approximately $1,000. You can donate toward the material cost by using the "Monthly Mission" envelope in your bulletin or by visiting our website and giving to the “Monthly Mission” at www.allsaintsnya.org.

 

St. Patrick's Day Progressive Dinner

Join us on Saturday, March 17 as we start off the evening at 5:30 pm with hors d’oeuvres at someone's home, then head to church for the main course and dessert. Please sign up at the Welcome Center and indicate if you would like to bring an hors d’oeuvre, a side dish for the main course, or dessert or if you would be willing to open your home to hors d'oeuvres.

 

Women's Retreat

The retreat will be April 21-22 at Green Lake Bible Camp in Spicer, MN.  We will stay in adult/hotel style rooms.  We will meet at church at 7:30 am on Sat., April 21 and car pool to Green Lake.  We’ll enjoy Bible study together as well as a lot of free time to shop in Spicer and Willmar, read, watch movies in the evening, etc.  Cost is $41 for lodging, linens, and Sunday morning breakfast at Green Lake and is payable at the time of sign up. Saturday shopping expenses and meals out (Sat. lunch and supper) are on your own.  On Sun., April 22 we’ll enjoy breakfast at the Green Lake cafeteria, our own worship service, and then head for home arriving at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sign up and payment deadline is April 1.  There is a take-home info. sheet at the Welcome Center next to the sign-up sheet.  Talk to Christin about any questions or further information.
